How we verify deals

A discount label is a claim. We check the retailer page, price context and editorial fit before publishing it.

The five checks

01Product match: exact model, capacity, color or bundle—not a lookalike listing.
02Current price: retailer page checked directly with an absolute timestamp.
03Baseline: previous verified price or another defensible historical reference.
04Classification: genuine drop, normal fluctuation or marketing.
05Usefulness: a short buy/wait reason tied to the review evidence.

What appears on a deal card

Product image, deal headline, was/now price, retailer, “See deal” link, freshness date and—only when true—“New low” or “Ends soon.” A separate summary states Best for / The deal / Why it matters.

Editorial safeguards

  • Deals are editorial picks, never paid placements.
  • A brand cannot buy the “genuine drop” classification.
  • Broken feeds and contradictory prices block publication.
  • Price errors are corrected and materially logged.
  • If no offer passes, the deals page remains honestly empty.
